Tamer Rushdy Elalfy, MD, is a consultant general surgeon and Head of the Department of General Surgery and Operating Rooms at Mohammad Dossary Hospital, Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and Associate Professor of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University, Egypt. He leads a busy outpatient and operating service in which structured patient counseling is part of daily practice.

He is the founder of AlfiSurgery, a digital platform that provides surgical patient education in several languages.
