What it is: Small growths on the gallbladder wall; most are harmless cholesterol deposits.
The operation: Managed by size: 10 mm or more usually means gallbladder removal; 6–9 mm depends on risk factors; smaller ones are watched.
Home care: Ultrasound surveillance at about 6 months, then 1 and 2 years, if you are in the watching group.
Warning signs: Severe upper-right tummy pain with fever, or yellowing of the eyes — usually stones, but needs same-day care.

ऑपरेशन से पहले

अस्पताल से आने का समय और उपवास के निर्देश पूछें। कौन सी दवा लेनी या रोकनी है, अपनी चिकित्सा टीम से पूछें; खुद से दवा बंद न करें। एलर्जी, गर्भावस्था और अन्य बीमारियाँ बताएँ। घर लौटने के लिए सहायता और वाहन की व्यवस्था करें।

ऑपरेशन के बाद

दवाइयाँ केवल पर्चे के अनुसार लें। घाव, भोजन, तरल और गतिविधि के अपने निर्देश मानें; टीम की अनुमति मिलने पर धीरे चलें। अगली जाँच पर जाएँ। गाड़ी चलाने, भारी वजन उठाने या काम पर लौटने से पहले सर्जन से पूछें।

सीने में दर्द, साँस लेने में कठिनाई, अधिक रक्तस्राव या गर्दन की तेजी से बढ़ती सूजन होने पर तुरंत आपातकालीन मदद लें। बुखार, बढ़ते दर्द, उल्टी या घाव से स्राव होने पर अपनी शल्य चिकित्सा टीम से तुरंत संपर्क करें।
